Last year in Hampshire, 1,500 people took part and saved a total of £70,000 on their regular commuting costs. Participants travelled over 250,000 miles in a more environmentally friendly way and burnt a staggering 4,000,000 calories, simply by changing the way they travelled to work, for just one month. We are hoping to achieve similar successes in Wokingham this summer.
Putting it simply, the organisation which accrues the most points will win the Commuter Challenge. Points will be awarded based on the number of employees participating and the number of journeys they log. So, the more people involved, the more points your organisation will gain. To ensure that everyone’s in with a chance of winning, organisations will be grouped into four different categories based on the size of their workforce, and each category will have a winner.
Winning organisations will receive a range of great prizes, including electric folding bikes, donations to charity, cycle training/maintenance and a My Journey trophy! They’ve also got some great weekly spot prizes to give away to those who take part.
